  I started training in classical music from a young age, and later had the opportunity to study music at Wayne State University in Detroit. My major was composition, but I was also studying piano at the same time. I performed my own compositions and entered the university’s concerto competition — winning, which led to a performance with the university orchestra. I also loved collaborating with and learning from Detroit’s vibrant jazz and Motown music culture.
  After graduating, I began teaching and have built over 7 years of experience working with students from young children to adults. I primarily teach classical piano, but I’m happy to teach in any style the student enjoys.
  In my free time, I enjoy watching Netflix, hiking, and discovering new places around Japan. I love home cooking, especially Southeast Asian cuisine.
